CULTURE & LEISURE • Friday Routine
DR. ANTHONY BERLET • plastic surgeon • Berlet Plastic Surgery
Neighborhood you live in: Financial District
It’s Friday afternoon—how are you rolling into the weekend?
Full throttle. This Friday kicks off with a rhinoplasty revision, lower blepharoplasty, lip lift, and fat grafting — all on one patient. Then it’s on to another rhinoplasty in the afternoon. Precision never takes a day off.
Any restaurant plans?
If all goes according to the surgical schedule (a rhinoplasty at noon can cut it close!), I’m hoping to make it to the French Heritage Society soirée in the Hamptons. If not, I’ll stay local and treat myself downtown — maybe a steak at Delmonico’s, modern Korean at Jungsik, or oysters and cocktails at The Fulton or Crown Shy. The FiDi food scene is seriously underrated.
How about a little leisure or culture?
Usually golf is my weekend therapy, but this time we’re heading to a polo match in Bridgehampton, where the ponies are fast, the Champagne is flowing, and the people-watching is Olympic-level. It’s one of those quintessential Hamptons events where sport meets style.
As for golf, I’m a member at Baltusrol Golf Club in New Jersey, and I’m part of a great group called Epic, where we host and travel with members from other top clubs. This past year alone, I’ve teed off at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, The Bear’s Club in Palm Beach, and even made it to Scotland to play Royal Dornoch, Kingsbarns, The Old Course at St. Andrews, and Carnoustie.
Any weekend getaways?
The Hamptons, of course. It’s our go-to escape. But for longer weekends, pretty much anywhere in Europe calls my name, but Paris is always at the top. We recently stayed at Le Bristol, which never disappoints, and we also love Hôtel de Crillon for its timeless elegance. As for restaurants, Epicure there is a standout, and of course, La Tour d’Argent is a classic.
Last great vacation?
Four Seasons’ The Ocean Club on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Think martinis, ocean views, and serious James Bond vibes. I highly recommend it.
Recent big-ticket purchase you love?
My Bentley. Sleek, smooth, and pure indulgence. Next on the wishlist: the Patek Philippe Orange Aquanaut. (If you know a guy, I’m listening.)
Product or service you always recommend?
Local anesthesia — it’s my go-to for facial surgery. Safer, simpler, and patients start recovering before they even leave the office. It’s become a signature part of how I practice.
