It’s Tuesday morning. What’s the scene at your workplace?
Tuesdays, I work from Public Records. The scene is typically a mix of my team, Japanese tourists drinking coffee and listening to music, regulars that work from The Atrium weekly on their laptops, and a few random characters like liquor reps tasting with the beverage team, or contractors tinkering on a new project for us.
What’s on the agenda for today?
I’m working on concepts for products we’re developing for our collaboration with The Whitney Museum, and designing the sonic mediation space for a residential project we’re working on in the Fort Greene cultural district next to BAM.
Any restaurant plans today, tonight, this weekend?
I eat with my family once a week in The Atrium at Public Records. A lot of people still don’t even realize we serve food, but I believe we’re the best plant-based restaurant in Brooklyn, no question. Otherwise, Mon Petit Canard, a dinner series pop-up our friends Rowan and Emma host. Birds Of a Feather, the Sichuan spot in Williamsburg, is my delivery go-to.
How about a little leisure or culture this week?
My co-founder Francis and our friend Tal from Colbo are DJ’ing upstairs at PR on Saturday. During the day, I’m taking my son to Space Club and visiting our friends Russell and Anaka at their recently opened coffee shop/soup stand in Dumbo, Red Coffee Stand.
What’s a recent big-ticket purchase you love?
A new guitar from Retrofret. They used to own and occupy the Public Records building before we took it over, and now they have an incredible shop in Carroll Gardens.
What NYC store or service do you love to recommend?
It used to be Stanley’s on Hester (RIP Stanley) and Ugly Baby. Now Colbo, Hudson Wilder, and Front General.
