It’s Friday afternoon. How are you rolling into the weekend?
Wrapping up the week at our Preston Lane office in the Empire State Building. We’re in the middle of finalizing some new home fragrance launches, so it’s been a busy one. By Friday afternoon, I’m usually packing up, grabbing whatever candle is currently in development, jumping in the car, and heading to my house in the Catskills. It’s my favorite way to reset after crazy weeks in the city.
Where are you drinking or dining this weekend?
If I’m Upstate, it’s either The Black Walnut in Callicoon or Conover Club at Callicoon Hills. Both have that perfect mix of cozy and elevated. The burger at Conover is a go-to. If I’m in the city, I gravitate toward spots that feel familiar: Morandi in the West Village is always a classic, Pastis if I want something familiar yet buzzy, or my local go-to 44&X in Hell’s Kitchen. It’s been around forever and feels like home.
How about a little leisure or culture?
I try to squeeze in a Broadway show whenever I can. There’s so much happening right now. I was on a bit of a Sunset Boulevard kick, but I think I’ve finally maxed out. Death Becomes Her is next on my list — it looks like the kind of fun, cheeky, slightly unhinged summer show I live for!
Any weekend getaways?
Sullivan County is my weekend escape. It’s the part of the Catskills that feels a bit more under-the-radar than Hudson or Kingston, but has so much to offer: great vintage shops, breweries, and restaurants. One of my favorite spots is Spruce Home Goods in Livingston Manor. It’s this beautifully curated little shop with home decor, imported snacks, and curated goodies you’re dying to take home. Sullivan Sundries in Jeffersonville has some of the best curated meats and cheeses you can find.
What was your last great vacation?
I took an amazing trip to London and then to the South of France. We stayed at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, which was absolutely unreal. It’s one of those once-in-a-lifetime places: the views, the food, history, the old-school glamour. Morning swims every day and fantastic food. I took in all of the magic and felt incredibly grateful.
What’s a recent big-ticket purchase you love?
This Prada raffia crossbody bag. It’s lightweight, goes with everything, and feels perfect for summer. Slightly unexpected and super chic.
Where are you donating your time or money?
At Preston Lane, we’re proud to support the Hetrick-Martin Institute, which provides vital resources and support to LGBTQ+ youth across New York City. We’ve been honored to donate products for their summer fundraiser in the Hamptons and will continue to show up for them however we can. Their work is incredibly important, especially right now.
