Park Slope perfection
Shahmiri (Park Slope)
GOODS & SERVICES • FOUND Shop
In August, Leah Shahmiri brought her unique design sensibility to Park Slope’s 8th Avenue with an eponymous new boutique. The shop carries clothing, jewelry, accessories, and homeware, all carefully curated by the owner herself.
Expect understated luxury — function and quality rather than glitz and glamor. Having grown up in Rhode Island and lived in Los Angeles, Shahmiri’s taste merges the East and West Coasts. You’ll find buttery bags from Rough & Tumble, crafted in Maine with Italian leather, and crisp button-up blouses from LOTTE.99, a small, sustainable brand in Los Angeles that Shahmiri calls “a wardrobe cure-all.” There are elegant, bohemian jewelry pieces from Emilly Brooke Rubin on Nantucket, as well as luminous, hand-blown glasses from Kazuki Takizawa in Los Angeles.
The space itself is spare, with an ornate, faded metallic ceiling and modern, teardrop-shaped light fixtures. And its location is Park Slope perfection, equidistant from Winner and Prospect Park. –Phoebe Fry
